Precision Machining for Rail & Heavy-Haulage Fleets

A road train parked with a worn king pin or a seized hub bushing isn't earning. Enex machines the pins, bushings, axle components and wear parts that keep WA rail operators and road-train fleets rolling — direct-fit to OEM spec, including parts that have been discontinued. Quotes back in 24-48 hours, freight to depots statewide.

// 01 — What we make

The parts that wear out on the road

Heavy-haulage and rail gear fails in predictable places — the load-bearing pins, the bushings carrying the pivot, the wear faces taking the punishment of corrugated mine roads and long-haul duty. Most of our work here falls into four buckets.

Hub bushings & bearings

Bronze C932/C954 turned to ID and OD spec with lubrication grooves and pressed-fit tolerances. Direct replacements for worn hub and rocker bushings.

Axle pins & king pins

4140 PG bar, heat-treated 28-32 HRC. Suspension pins, radius-rod pins, greaseable king pins — machined to original equipment dimensions.

Suspension & rocker components

Rocker axle pins, hanger components, top-hat spacers and sleeves. E470 / Euronorm grades to suit the original fitment.

Wear pads & sleeves

Abrasion-resistant wear pads, axle shaft sleeves and bushes. Cut, turned and finished to keep the assembly within tolerance.

// 02 — Discontinued parts

No part number? Send the worn one.

Trailers and rolling stock outlive their parts supply. When the OEM has discontinued a pin or bushing — or the lead time from the eastern states is weeks — send us the worn item or clear photos with measurements.

We measure with calipers and micrometers, model it in CAD and machine a direct-fit replacement, typically 5-10 working days from when the sample arrives. For common items, check our aftermarket catalogue first — many are already drawn.

// 05 — FAQ

Fleet & rail buyers ask

Can you remake a discontinued trailer or suspension part?

Yes — it's one of our core jobs. Send the worn part or photos with measurements. We measure with calipers and micrometers, model it in CAD and machine a direct-fit replacement, including parts the original manufacturer no longer supplies. Typical lead time 5-10 working days from sample arrival.

What materials do you use for hub bushings and axle pins?

4140 PG bar (heat-treated 28-32 HRC) for pins, shafts and king pins. Bronze C932/C954 for bushings. E470 / Euronorm grades for axle components. 316 stainless where corrosion is a concern. Material grades and heat numbers are traceable end-to-end.

Do you freight parts to regional depots?

Yes. Daily Perth metro courier, plus weekly direct freight to Karratha, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Geraldton, with on-demand freight elsewhere. Parts are protected and palletised for transport.

Can you machine a production batch of identical wear parts?

Yes. From single replacements through to runs of 5,000+. Setup is amortised across the run, so per-unit price drops sharply past ~200 pieces. We quote a single price plus a per-piece price so the breakeven is clear up front.
